Randy Wykoff, MD, MPH & TM became the founding dean, College of Public Health at East Tennessee State University in 2006. He is a physician, board certified in both Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine. Positions held prior to his current role included: Senior Vice President for International Operations at Project HOPE (2002 – 2006); Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health (Disease Prevention and Health Promotion) in the US Department of Health and Human Services (1999- 2002); and several positions during eleven years at the United States Food and Drug Administration including Associate Commissioner for Operations and Deputy to the Acting Commissioner. In July 2019, Governor Bill Lee created a new Center for Rural Health research that Dr. Wykoff will direct.
